Tenby Boxing Day Swim
The annual Tenby Boxing day swim sported another fantastic
day for swimmers and spectators alike!
The weather was dry but a little chilly! The tide nestled
just on the far side of Goscar Rock, so the waiting swimmers
did not have too far to go to take the plunge!
The Brave swimmers congregated on the beach around the
blazing bonfire for a pre-swim warm up and watched the excitement
of the raft race. Many of the swimmers were turned out in
some spectacular fancy dress costumes, Elvis, Little Britain,
Monks and there was even a dog in a Santa outfit!
At 11.30am the starter gun was fired and 600 swimmers charged
into the water, many of whom braved the cold in order to raise
money for charity and the rest were there full of festive
spirit and just having fun.
The plunge was watched by thousands of spectators who soaked
up the excitement and electric atmosphere of the occasion
from the beach and at vantage points all along the North beach.
